However the road going down to the town was damaged due to the recent flood waters so we couldn't go down there. We then headed on to Dunmarra, a little roadhouse inn. We eventually got to Dunmarra and stopped there to have a rest and explore the pub before getting on the road again. We then headed off to Daly Waters, home of the famous dinner meal called barramundi and beef. When we got to Daly waters we went into the pub to take some photos.
The pub was sought of like the William Creek pub with the walls covered in collectable items.
I think our German friend Dirk may have left his car's number plate behind.
We left Daly Waters and headed for Larrimah- another pub that we want to look at. We eventually got to Larrimah and found out that it was home of the Pink Pather.
We went inside the hotel and had a look at all the cool stuff.
We soon left Larrimah and for our destination for the night, Mataranka. While we were driving we just kept looking at the termite mounds on the side of the road.
We eventually got to Mataranka and went to the resort just out of town to have a look. I guess we could have stayed there cause it was pet friendly and it was a descent price. We left Matranka resort and headed for another place just north of it (not sure what the name of it is though). We finally got there and realised how many people were there, we were actually considering going on to Katherine. We finally made up our minds and decided to keep going cause Katherine was only about 100km away. After seeing a couple of termite mounds and other camping spots within the 100km radius to Katherine, we finally got there. We went straight to the information centre to have a little look around before going to see the biggest hand-made termite mound in the world.
After seeing it mum rang her cousin and told we were here and that we would be seeing her soon. Mum's cousin (Leonie) said to go to Zimin Drive and wait there because she would come pick us up. We waited until Leonie came and took us to her shack up in the bush.
We had dinner then mum went up to the shack and spoke to Leonie. I snuck up behind them and to a photo.
Mum stayed up till 12:00 having a conversation while dad and I went to bed.
