Day 119: Djarindjin Scout Camp Day 1

It was an early start to the morning and once we got up it was down to the waterhole to try and catch some mudcrabs. Although our attempt to catch breakfast was unsuccessful our spirits were still high because a nice breakfast was waiting for us and afterwards was a nice walk down to an undug well then down to the beach for a swim.

While some swam in the water the rest of us went hunting for crabs and mudskippers for bait when we went fishing later. Suddenly someone yelled SHARK so we had to evacuate and go swimming somewhere else. Once we got to Chile Creek some of us went fishing and some of us went swimming.
We went back to the camp it was getting on to lunch timeso he patrol on duty cooked while the rest of us got the fires ready. When it was time to cook dinner we made the fires and got ready to go to the disco that night. When dinner was cooked we had it and then went back to Lombadina and went to the disco. I fell asleep half way through and as soon as you know it, it was time to go back to the camp to go to bed.

Day 118: Off to Camp

Today started out with a quick swim in the surf, building a sandcastle and burying me up to my neck.
After that it was off to Broome so mum and I could go to this scout camp out at Djarindjin. When we got back to Broome dad dropped us off then all the scouts turned up to go to camp. It was a long 3hr drive on rough terrain to get to Djarindjin and then another 5km of sand. When we were right next to the campsite the trailer got bogged so our car had to pull it out. When we finally got out we started to set up the camp in the dark. When we'd finished setting up it was a nice dinner then off to bed.

Day 117: Heading to Barn Hill

We got ready that morning and then headed off to Barn Hill. We got there about another hour later and got in to our site nice and quick. Dad and I went looking for Nola, Denis and Bonnie to say hi. Denis was there but Nola and Bonnie had gone down to the beach. I went down with Rosie and found Bonnie and Nola. I went for a swim and, wow, the power in the waves was incredibly enormous and the other remarkable thing about the waves was where they broke, the waves breaking right at the shore was another cool thing.

After a few hours in the surf we went back to the van to have some dinner and go to bed while mum socialised and took some photos of the sunset.

Day 116: BBQ in Front of a Sunset

Today we were going to have a BBQ on Cable Beach with Nola and Denis but before that; we stayed home most the day and mum and dad went sightseeing while I stayed at home and played with the nearby kids. When mum and dad got home we got ready to go out. When we'd gotten ready I played with the kids for a little while longer. When we got to Cable Beach we got set up and aparantly mum and dad had got something set up for me, a camel ride on the famous Cable Beach with the leader of channel seven, Kerry Stoke's house on the dunes right beside you, who could ask for more. When the group were saddled up we started riding. I was a little bit scared because the person leading the camels told me my camel was the only one who'd go into the water. After our ride we went to get in position and watch the sunset once again but this time with a BBQ. Nola and Denis turned up a little bit later and Rosie and Bonnie got off to a good start. About an hour later we went back home to go to bed.

Day 115: Another Scout Meeting

We all got up at the same time and I went to hang out with some of the kids around the park for an hour or two. Mum and dad  went shopping for a few hours so I just watched some movies and did some stuff like riding my scooter. We decided we would go to Broome Scouts and spend a bit of our night there. We had fun doing all soughts of things such as making chariots and racing them around the hall. We also found out that there was a camp on that weekend so we decided we'd go to it. After that we went home and went to bed.

Day 114: A Little Bit of Broome

Today we were having a quick look at Broome. We went to the dinosaur footprints and had a quick look. Unfortunately we couldn't see the actual ones but we could see the plaster casts.
After that we went back to the van to rest. I rode around on my scooter but on the 22nd lap a person stopped me and said that they were trying to rest and it was 2:30 in the afternoon. Nola and Denis rang us and asked if we'd like to go look at the sunset with them, we agreed. We left at 4:30 we went down to the beach. We watched the sun go down and watched the colours burst into the sky, I even did some drawings in the sand, I think I did pretty good. Rosie and Bonnie also had a good time running around and we even saw three sets of camels go by.

After this amazing phenomenon we went home and went to bed.

Day 113: Cape Leveque

Today were going to Cape Leveque. We left quite early and we got to Cape Leveque a couple of hours later. We actually went to One Arm Point first to have a look.

On the way we stopped at an old church and had a look at the pearl alter and other things.
We then stopped at a little cove and saw some lemon sharks swimming around so we went up to say hello. We also found a turtle shell on the shore.

It was then off to get a ticket so we could look more around One Arm Point ( I think it was a waste of money because we hardly did anything else). We went to the Hatchery to get our tickets and had a look at the actual Hatchery.

After that we went to the dock to have some lunch before heading off to Cape Leveque. When we got to Cape Leveque we went o the information centre and found out it was another $10 to get in so we decided we better put on our list for next time. We headed back home so we could get some sleep.
