Day 155: Heading to Janice's

We packed up early so we could get on the road. We stopped at Morven to have a look around town, we even saw some emus.

We then kept going to get to Mitchell. When we eventually got there we headed to mums 3rd cousin in law's house. She wasn't there so we went to the free camp 2km out of town and got set up. Mum went back to her cousins place to see if she was there but came back with no luck. The people across from us had a small maltese cross something and Rosie and the dog, Chloe, had a play.

We eventually had dinner and went to bed.

Day 153: Reaching Charleville

I was woken up by mum roughly that morning and she was saying that we had to get out of the camp because all the rain from the night before had bogged us in the dirt. We hurridly hooked up and got out of there. we drove to Tambo and we decided to have lunch there. We then made it to Augathella to have a look at the giant meat ant.

We then went to Charleville to stay the night. We stayed 8km out of town on a farm stay and it was great. We had dinner early again and then went to bed.

Day 152: On the Road Again

We started off the morning by going to the LSODE (Longreach School of Distant Education) and having a look.

After our tour we went to take a photo of the Tropic of Capricorn. I know we saw it I Alice Springs but apparantly it goes all the way through.

We then got back on the road again and eventually stopped at Barcaldine to take some photos. The main attraction at Barcaldine was a replica of the Tree of Knowledge, the real tree was poisened and didn't survive.

We then kept going until we reached a town called Blackall and we stayed at a place right on the edge of town.

We had dinner early and went to bed all rugged up because it was so cold. Guess what happened in the middle of the night, we felt our first drop of rain.

Day 151: Exploring Longreach

The free camp spot we stayed at was actually only 4km out of town, so we didn't have far to travel to go see the Stockmans Hall of Fame. I wasn't intrested in doing it but I was draged along. We had a quick look aroundbefore we went out to see the outback show. They started off with a man riding around on a horse then he called three people out to do a quiz (one of those three was dad).
After the quiz he brought out a horse that had apparantly been to a party and had been toped up on funny stuff. He was going to make a lady ride him but he was just mucking around.
He then brought out a camel to show off (at lest he hadn't gone to the party).
After that we finished off looking at the Hall of Fame then went back to have lunch. After lunch dad and I went to the Powerhouse Mueseum to have a look.

The mueseum had loads of old stuff and early day equipment. We then went back to the van park to have a swim in the really cold pool. It was then time to go to scouts. In spite of not wanting to go I had a really fun time.

They even had a mueseum to help celebrate their hundredth year of scouts (that may be a good idea for our scout group). We then headed back to the van for a good nights rest.
